    2013 Berliner 6 Tage Rennen

    2013 Berliner 6 Tage Rennen

23rd January 2013: January is the busy time for the 6-Day riders. After Rotterdam and Bremen comes Berlin with start coming Thursday. It will be the 17th 6-Days in the Arena at Landsberger Allé since the re-start in 1997 – and the 102nd race in the old and new German capital.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

2013 Berliner 6 Tage Rennen - Day Six

30th January 2013: Roger Kluge and Peter Schep, that is the winners of the 102nd “Sechstagerennen”in Berlin. It was the first 6-Days win for Kluge in this season, but in December he participated in the Sixdays-Nights in Zurich, ending 2nd with Danilo Hondo.

The finale was a 60 Minutes Madison, and as expected it ended out in a “sprint-finale” between the best teams, and before the last couple of sprints, it was clear that the decision should be between De Ketele – Roberts and Kluge – Schep. Peter Schep attacked direct after the second-last sprint with ten laps to go and took De Ketele – Roberts by surprise at the right moment, very quick achieving a lead of half a lap, which they managed to keep until the very end.

Thus Kluge – Schep was winners, just with three points ahead, while Marvulli – Müller ended in third place overall, in the same lap, but with far less points.

    2013 Berliner 6 Tage Rennen

The German Madison Champions Bengsch – Kalz ended in fourth place, on lap down, after a fine race. For the Berlin-boy Robert Bengsch it was his last race in his home-town, and he received a nice and well-deserved farewell-ceremony from both riders and public. He will do his definitively last 6-Days in Copenhagen, starting on Thursday, and again with Marcel Kalz, with whom he has won 5 times the German title.

    Overall Standings
1 Roger Kluge (GER) – Peter Schep (NED), 261 p.,
